For the sixth consecutive year, Grupo Vanguardia has received the Ecological Flag - Climate Change award, which is a public-private recognition aimed at acknowledging the practices carried out to comply with corporate environmental responsibility within a framework of sustainability. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
The purpose of this award is to encourage the implementation of actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change through integrated environmental management, promoting the quantification or measurement of the environmental impact of the organisation's activities. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Water Security Alliance

Grupo Vanguardia was present at the closing of the project of GIZ and the Alliance for the Conservation of Water Supply in the Sula Valley, where we received recognition for having applied a tool for water management with a focus on the Merendón watersheds.

Circular Caribbean Alliance

CTHA Recycleathon

The first Recyclathon of the Centro Técnico Hondureño Aleman (CTHA) was a great success!
It was a real honour for us to be part of this CTHA initiative, and we are grateful to be part of this recycling fair that helps us to continue working towards the Sustainable Development Goals, the Circularity of Plastics and to create a positive impact on the environment.

Recycle + Omoa

Grupo Vanguardia participated in the Recicla+ fair. This event was promoted by the Fortaleza Circular project, the Municipality of Omoa, the German Cooperation, Secretaría Mi Ambiente, different organisations in Omoa and private enterprise. The purpose of the event was to manage and valorise post-consumer waste in order to prevent it from reaching nature and the Caribbean Sea. ⁣
This initiative is based on raising public awareness of integrated waste management and recycling culture. ⁣
Different segments of the civil society gathered at the Fair, together with the other companies, all products that are recyclable in nature were received. A total of 11,120 pounds (5,054 Kg) of recyclables were collected, more than 2,500 pounds (1,141 Kg) of plastics of different types, such as HDPE, LDPE, PP and PET, as well as nearly 6,000 pounds of glass and 500 pounds of aluminium, among other materials that were brought in by people of all ages. Grupo Vanguardia only recycles HDPE, LDPE and PP materials.

We talked about the Triple Impact in Today's Businesses by our General Manager, Dr. Sofía Moya. Likewise, we were at our stand sharing about all our circular economy initiatives through which we have had a great positive impact on society and the environment. ⁣

Grupo Vanguardia is proud to receive the FUNDAHRSE Seal of Socially Responsible Company for the fourteenth consecutive year.
This recognition represents the performance and commitment of each manager and collaborator in the implementation of sustainability actions and CSR practices, which have generated a positive impact on society and the environment.

CSR and Sustainability Week 2021

This 2021, FUNDAHRSE will hold its CSR and Sustainability week on May 17 to 21, virtually named as Evolving Sustainable Societies, which aims to identify the challenges and maximize the opportunities around developing partnerships Sustainable considering the new challenges and opportunities generated by the global crisis.

During this virtual event will have scheduled different learning activities such as lectures, panels of experts and business exchange, success stories, event for CEOs, interaction activities with business and EXPO virtual CSR, a space where leading companies from Honduras present their initiatives and projects for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.

K 2019 Fair! in Düsseldorf Germany

The fair had 3,330 exhibitors from 63 nations, proving innovate advances in techonlogy and future-oriented taking into consideration the economy.Attending about 225,000 people from 165 counries

Being The World's No 1 Trade fair for pplastics and Rubber new technologies and machinery for the process and recycling of plastic are exhibited. This year's focus was on the circular economy, something that Grupo Vanguardia is considered a pioneer in Honduras on this issue.

Regional Forum "The Circular Economy and its Impact on the ODS"

As part of the circular economy, we participated in the Regional Forum "The Circular Economy and its Impact on the ODS", which was organized by the National Cleaner Production Center of Honduras.
The following topics were addressed in the forum:

• The Concepts of the Circular Economy and its relationship with the ODS.
• The Efficient Use of Resources in the Circular Economy scheme.
• The applications of the Circular Economy within the framework of the Integral and Rational Management of Residues and Chemicals.

2nd. Latin American Innovation Summit in Plastic Packaging

As part of our desire to continuously innovate and improve our business strategy and processes. A group of our executives attended the 2nd Latin American Summit on Innovation in Plastic Packaging held in Mexico City on April 18th -19th. Summit in which they acquired many insights, knowledge and experiences that would definitely benefit all of our associates, partners and especially final customers.
