1992

We began operations as Plasticos Vanguardia under Ms. Susy Moya’s leadership, being the company’s founder. At first, our company began with 9 staff members, incluiding administration and security. Now, we’re currently more than 240 collaborators.

In mid-1992, Mr. Eduardo Moya is directly integrated into the company's activities; having extensive expertise in both technical and management areas. Successive to this integration, immediately he proceeds to diversify the lines of production and commercialization of new products.

1994

During this year, we integrated the printing project into four colors and simultaneously we developed the self-adhesive label project; generating additional income.

1997

In order to take advantage of the genreration of industrial waste, we acquired plastic recyclers from Europe and Asia.

2001

In 2001 the company adopts a new vision and proceeds to increase its installed capacity in the following areas:

In the recycling area, the installed capacity is doubled.
The injection and blowing section is created to produce the following products:
- Plastic balls.
- Plastic cups and trays.
- Plastic basins in different sizes and presentations.
- Any other product that the market requires in the blowing area.
- Any other product that the market requires in the injection area.

2004

We obtained the ISO 9001: 2000 certification for the following activities:

Design, production, marketing of packaging; plastic goods of polyethylene and polypropylene for agricultural, industrial, commercial or domestic use, manufactured by extrusion, printing, conversion, injection, blowing and recycling.

2005

The process of self-adhesive labels for general usage was certified.

2007

During this year, we obtained the first overall re-certification.

2008

The first Socially Responsible Company award by FUNDAHRSE was received.

A 6-color press was also purchased to increase production in the printing department, as a result, we achieved to improve our quality.

2009

For its important contribution to the environment with 62 million pounds recycled in plastic waste and for supporting its suppliers of recyclable products, Vanguardia obtained the Exemplary Company Award for its Social Responsibility in Latin America, awarded in Mexico by CEMEFI, ALIARSE and EMPRESA.

2010

During this year, we received the second re-certification of the ISO standard: 9001-2008. As well as, for the second time in a row we received the Exemplary Company Award from CEMEFI, ALIARSE and EMPRESA, in Mexico.

2011

Under the same premise of wanting to improve the quality of printing, we bought Honduprint’s machinery; being more high-end and modern equipment.

2012

During 2008 the INCAE Business School develops a case study on inclusive business and sustainability in Latin America. On May 21st 2012, this case is presented at the Think Forward Latin America Forum, executed by top academics in the field of business around the world.

2013

During this year, we accomplished nine years of contributing to the environment through our recycling process; reaching 100 million pounds recycled.

2015

For the 8th consecutive time, we received the Socially Responsible Company award.

2016

Grupo Vanguardia is invited to participate in a Corporate Sustainability Workshop in Latin America Workshop at Yale University, on May 5th and 6th. Also participating with other 13 Latin American companies; and presented the case developed by INCAE.

Grupo Vanguardia celebrates its 25th anniversary, making history in Honduras.

2017

1. Grupo Vanguardia receives the Social Responsibility award for the tenth consecutive year.

2. We also evolve and innovate as a brand with our new corporate image.

3. We continuously strive for the development of our collaborators; training them in Flexography.
